NORDHAVEN was started by Bashir, a former college basketball player who wanted the recovery he knew from the gym to fit inside everyday life.
Bashir grew up playing basketball, and played at the highest level in college. Recovery was part of the routine: taking care of his body was part of being ready to perform.
Then the game ended and real life began. A nine-to-five, a new routine, and the gym: showing up consistently, running, staying active. He still wanted to feel good, and he still wanted the recovery experiences he had as an athlete. But those lived in gyms and big sports complexes, not in everyday homes.
